The Houston Rockets announced that they have signed J.D. Davison to a standard NBA contract for the rest of the season. Davison used up his eligibility to be active for any more games this season under his two-way contract.

LaBaron Philon announced that he is entering the 2026 NBA Draft. Philon, who has two years of eligibility remaining, went through the draft process last year but withdrew on the last day allowed. He is projected to be a first-round pick by many.

The NSK Brave Bearies of the Japan Diamond League (Japan’s premier softball league) announce that Bailey Hemphill is returning for the 2026 season.

Riley Tanner has earned another international call-up with the Panamanian women’s national team. Panama has upcoming CONCACAF qualifiers against Aruba and Cuba. Tanner’s season with the Ninja A League in Australian ended this past weekend.

Manisha Redus has joined her brother’s staff at Rutgers. Redus served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Florida Atlantic this past season.

Braylon Myers made his professional debut with an inning of work for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans tonight.

Jim Jarvis stole a single-game career-high four bases for the Gwinnett Stripers tonight.

Former Alabama baseball player J.D. Smelser has been named boy’s basketball coach at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa.
