Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Marlon Humphrey (Sep 21)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Marlon Humphrey.  In Baltimore’s road win, Humphrey had 7 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.  The forced fumble, which came while the score in the game was still a one-possession game, was returned for a touchdown to break open the game.

Runner-up this week is Calvin Ridley.  Ridley had 109 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, becoming the first player in 21 years to open the season with back-to-back games with 100+ receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

Others of note:

Haylie McCleney went 7-for-14 in 3 games, with homers in all three games. She’s now 7th on the Athletes Unlimited leaderboard for points accumulated this season.

Cheyenne Knight finished T-5th at the Portland Classic, which is her 3rd career Top 5 finish on the LPGA Tour.

Justin Thomas set a course record on Day 1 of the US Open, and eventually finished T-8th for the week, which is his career best at the US Open.

Tommy Hunter had 3 scoreless outings and picked up his first save in two years.

Spencer Turnbull had a quality start of 6 IP with 7 strikeouts and no walks. The start included five innings in which he retired the side in order.

Ricky Tarrant had a season-high 21 points for PGE Spójnia Stargard.

Derrick Henry had 200 total rushing yards in 2 games (including Wk 1 Monday night).

Amari Cooper had a 100-yard receiving game.

Kenyan Drake had 97 yards from scrimmage.

Eddie Jackson had 8 tackles (and a pick-six that was called back).

Quinnen Williams had 7 tackles and 2 sacks.

Minkah Fitzpatrick had a 6-tackle game.

JK Scott had 3 punts, all of which were inside the 20, and only resulted in 6 total return yards.
