Some encouraging news on the injury front. Kenyan Drake’s x-rays last night were negative, and the MRI today revealed a high ankle sprain. He should be sidelined 4-6 weeks. Jonah Williams’ neck injury was deemed not serious, and sounds like at most he might miss this coming week. Meanwhile, no new news on Landon Collins’ MRI for his possible Achilles tear.
The regular season of the Japan Softball League ended today, and Kelly Kretschman’s team, Toda Medics, did not advance to the playoffs, which means there’s a real possibility that we’ve seen Kretschman play for the last time. She was 0-4 in today’s finale, and her final AB was a ground-out to first base.
