Collin Sexton led Cleveland to its 4th straight win tonight, 101-90 over Houston. Sexton scored 39 points in 41 minutes, added 8 assists, and got to the line for 15 free throw attempts.

Donta Hall and Levi Randolph squared off in a G League classic today with Hall’s Raptors 905 team defeating Randolph’s Canton squad 125-124 in overtime. Hall logged 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Randolph had 17 points. Some highlights:

Alexa Guarachi moved up to 24th in this week’s WTA doubles rankings, which is the highest ranking of her career (also highest ranking ever for an Alabama women’s tennis player). Guarachi is playing this week in the Qatar Total Open in Doha, where she’ll be partnered with Darija Jurak of Croatia. I believe it’s the first time that Guarachi has played with Jurak.

Saketh Myneni returns to competitive tennis tomorrow as the 1-seed in the singles draw at the ITF event in Lucknow, India. Myneni’s last tournament was an ATP Challenger event in February 2020.

We reported today that Trevor Releford won his arbitration case against Basketball LΓΆwen Braunschweig for breach of contract. Releford was under contract with Braunschweig for the 2020-21 season, but his contract was terminated just prior to the beginning of the season. Releford’s case was heard by FIBA’s Basketball Arbitral Tribunal pursuant to the standard arbitration clause in most overseas contracts. The arbitration decision should be published in the coming weeks.

Braxton Key scored a season-high 19 points in Delaware’s 120-92 win over the G League Ignite.

Tomorrow’s episode of the Bama Standard marks Alabama’s SEC Championship in men’s basketball with guests Erwin Dudley, Rod Grizzard, and Kennedy Winston.
