Justin Thomas shot a closing round 68 to win the Players Championship at -14, one ahead of Round 3 leader Lee Westwood. It’s Thomas’ first Players title, and the 14th title of his PGA career. Thomas parred the first seven holes, bogeyed the 8th, then reeled off a string of birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie to take a lead that he never relinquished. Thomas was 17-for-17 on hitting greens in regulation before barely missing the 18th green with his approach shot. Thomas’ Par 5 performance was the best by a Players champion since 1983, and his shots gained tee-to-green in the last two rounds was the most by a Players champ since 2004. His 7-stroke comeback on the last 36 holes was also the best by a winner in Players Championship history.

Sportando and Hoops Rumors are reporting that the New Zealand Breakers of Australia’s NBL are signing Levi Randolph for the remainder of the season. Randolph, who just concluded his G League season, will have an opt-out clause for any NBA opportunities.
