News

The NFL new year officially began today at 4pm ET, and there was a flurry of activity among the Alabama restricted free agents. Robert Foster, who was non-tendered by Washington, has signed a one-year deal with Miami. Tony Brown and Levi Wallace, both also non-tendered, were immediately re-signed by their respective teams, Cincinnati and Buffalo. The only remaining restricted free agent, Cam Sims, did receive a tender offer at the “right of first refusal” level, which will be worth $2,133,000 if he re-signs with Washington.

Collin Sexton scored 29 points, and added 7 rebounds and 6 assists, to lead Cleveland to a 117-110 win over Boston tonight, ending a 4-game losing streak.

Though he didn’t score last night, Kira Lewis has been an offensive weapon of late, as noted by Fox Sports New Orleans.

Emmanuel Bor will make another run at the US Indoor 5K record in Virginia Beach tomorrow in an event that will be carried live on YouTube. Bor ran the 2nd fastest indoor 5K in US history a couple of weeks ago.

Golf Channel interviewed Alabama Men’s Golf coach Jay Seawell to discuss Justin Thomas’ time at Alabama.

Justin Thomas’ Players win, and the advice he received from Tiger Woods, landed him in People magazine!.

We’ve run a couple of items on Landon Dickerson raffling off his railroad tie truck bumper to raise funds for a cancer patient he met at the national championship game. Here’s a feature on Brian Wolnewitz, the South Florida fireman and Alabama fan who’s the beneficiary of the fundraiser.

Speaking of Dickerson, here is Episode 2 of his film study with Brandon Thorn of Inside the Trenches (subscription required).
