NWSL expansion team Racing Louisville FC announced today that it has signed former Alabama soccer player Nealy Martin to a professional contract. Martin’s journey to make Louisville’s roster started with the team’s open tryouts in January. Martin impressed enough at the tryout to earn an invitation to Louisville’s camp as a non-roster player on a trial basis, and now Martin has earned a professional contract in the week leading up to the beginning of the NWSL season.

Alana Gonçalo Da Silva officially joined Ituano Basquete of Brazil’s Liga de Basquete Feminino today. Da Silva signed with Ituano for the 2020 season, which lasted one game before the pandemic forced the season to be canceled. She just completed a successful season with Melilla La Salle in Spain.

The Chicago White Sox announced its alternate site roster today, and Will Carter was among the players named. The alternate site team will train in Schaumburg.
