The fourth and final episode of Alabama Media Group’s excellent “Road to the Pros” feature on Najee Harris was released today. The concluding episode follows Najee back to the Bay Area, where he hosts a party on Draft Day for families at the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program homeless shelter where he was once housed, and then attends a draft party with old friends.

The OL Reign concluded its NWSL Challenge Cup schedule tonight with a 2-1 win over Kansas City. Celia Jimenez Delgado scored the game-winner on a header at the 84 minute mark.

Today was the deadline for NFL teams to exercise 5th-year options on players picked in the first round of the 2018 draft. Calvin Ridley’s option for 2022 was exercised by the Atlanta Falcons. The Tennessee Titans declined to exercise Rashaan Evans’ option, but hope to work out an extension with the linebacker.

Levi Randolph suffered a slight hamstring tear on his game-winning shot on Saturday, and will be out of the New Zealand Breakers’ lineup for several games.

Collin Sexton is once again the target of some criticism from anonymous sources. Sexton responds by taking the high road, vowing to prove the critics wrong. Some in the media are coming to his defense.

Shelby Gibson has been hired as an assistant basketball coach at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Mike Kaye of NewJersey.com has an excellent piece on DeVonta Smith, looking at his rise from awkward teenager to “the Slim Reaper.”

Jenny Vrentas of Sports Illustrated notes that the drafting of Mac Jones marks the first time that Bill Belichick has used a first round pick on a quarterback, signaling that the Patriots’ post-Brady era is officially underway.

Derrick Lassic will be tomorrow’s guest on the Bama Standard.
