News

Retin Obasohan and ERA Nymburk wrapped up the Czech NBL championship today with a 2-0 sweep over Opava. Obasohan scored 16 first-half points to spark Nymburk to an insurmountable lead, and was named Finals MVP.

Julio Jones trade rumors found another gear today. First, Shannon Sharpe cold-called Jones during Undisputed, and Jones said on a speaker phone that he’s “out of there” in reference to Atlanta (it’s unclear of Jones knew that he was on air). Then, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Jones requested a trade several months ago, and that the Falcons were working to accommodate him. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Falcons are requesting a first round pick, while others around the league doubt they’ll get a pick that high. MMQB looks at a potential Jones trade from every angle. Any trade of Jones will carry a post-June 1 designation for cap purposes.

Spencer Turnbull was named American League Co-Player of the Week this week.

Turnbull also made his first start tonight since last week’s no-hitter, and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings of work. Here are his post-game comments to the media.

The Easton FastPitch Haylie McCleney outfielder glove will indeed be released this week.

The Detroit Lions are optimistic that they still have a special player in Da’Shawn Hand.

Landon Dickerson is already making an impression on Eagle OL veterans.

Najee Harris endeared himself to all of the Pittsburgh fanbases tonight by attending the Penguins game with both Pirates and Steelers garb!
