Daily Recap – June 9, 2021

Jonathan Allen spoke to the Washington media today (video below). Allen mentioned that his agent was discussing a new contract with Washington, and that he wants to be there long-term. When addressing a question about defensive schemes, he dropped the money quote “I get paid to whoop people’s asses, it doesn’t matter what scheme I’m in.” Later in the day, Allen also appeared at a function for Links to Freedom, an organization that benefits injured soldiers.

There were injury reports today on both Calvin Ridley and Amari Cooper. Ridley, who hasn’t been participating in OTA’s, apparently recently had “minor” foot surgery with Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay. Cooper is reportedly sidelined by an ankle injury that may keep him out until training camp.

Jerry Jeudy announced that he would be release a set of NFT cards on June 29, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Trisomy 18 charities. The cards will be released by Bitski, which claims these are the first-ever NFT rookie cards for an NFL player.

For National Best Friend Day yesterday, the Player’s Tribune had a piece on Calvin Ridley and Falcon’s assistant equipment manager Kenny Osuwah.

Robert Horry appeared on the Ryen Russillo podcast to discuss the Lakers’ early playoff exit and general NBA issues. Here he is answering the age-old “Hakeem vs Shaq” question.

Kareem Jackson appeared on Aqib Talib’s Catchin’ Fades podcast, and made some waves by saying that Deshaun Watson was interested in being traded to Denver.
