Kirani James ran his Olympics Men’s 400m semifinal in a blistering 43.88 seconds today, winning the heat and advancing to the finals as the top seed based on time. The lap was his fastest time since the 2016 Rio Olympics, and his first sub-44 second time since contracting and recovering from Graves Disease.

JaMychal Green agreed to terms with the Denver Nuggets on a new 2-year, $17 million contract. Green will again have a player opt-out option in Year 2. Green was scheduled to make $7.5 million this season in Denver, but exercised an option to out a couple of weeks ago.

An MRI today shows that DeVonta Smith suffered a slight knee sprain on Friday. He will be sidelined 2-3 weeks, but should be ready by Week 1.

Former Alabama shot putter Sarah Robles won the bronze medal in Women’s +87kg weightlifting, repeating her performance in Rio in a different weight category. She’s the first American weightlifter since 1964 to medal in multiple Olympics.

Former Alabama pitcher Alan Dunn, who has served at the pitching coach at Louisiana State, has been hired as the pitching coach at Arkansas State.

Morgan McCullough singled in the 7th inning tonight to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

The Portland Trailblazers confirmed the hiring of Roy Rogers and other assistant coaches today.

Sam Amico of Hoops Wire reports that a trade of Collin Sexton now appears to be unlikely.

O.J. Howard addressed the Tampa Bay media for the first time since undergoing Achilles surgery last season. He discussed his recovery, how he stayed in shape, and the experience of having a newborn baby the week after his injury.

Jalen Hurts also had a media appearance today in Philadelphia. Hurts apparently picked the playlist for today’s practice, and discussed the team working to get better every day.
