Daily Recap – September 22, 2021


Derrick Henry has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 2 performance. Henry was also voted FedEx Ground Player of the Week with 79% of the vote.

Mia Nonnenberg has been hired as an assistant coach on the swimming staff at Penn State University. Nonnenberg, a Scranton, PA native, spent last season on the staff at Eastern Michigan, and previously served on the staff at West Florida after graduating from Alabama in 2018.

Shaun Alexander and Cornelius Bennett are once again nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as the list of 122 Modern Era candidates was released today. The list will be reduced to 25 semifinalists in November.

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores announced in his press conference today that, after further testing, it was determined that Tua Tagovailoa has fractured ribs, as opposed to the original diagnosis of bruised ribs. At a minimum, Tagovailoa will out for Week 3, with no timetable yet for his return.

To no one’s surprise, Jonathan Allen deflects credit for his recent success towards his teammates.
