Daily Recap – November 7, 2021

News

Xavier McKinney intercepted two passes – and returned one for a 41-yard touchdown – to lead the New York Giants to a 23-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mac Jones didn’t have gaudy numbers today, but led New England to a 3rd consecutive win. In the process, Jones became just the third rookie quarterback in the post-merger era to have 5+ wins, 10+ touchdown passes, and 2,000+ passing yards in their first 9 career games. Others are Andrew Luck (2012) and Dak Prescott (2016).

DeVonta Smith caught five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s game today. Smith shared his thoughts about Henry Ruggs with reporters after the game.

Justin Thomas had a closing round 69 to finish the World Wide Technology Championship at -18, which was good for solo 3rd place. It marks the 30th career finish of 3rd or better for Thomas on the PGA Tour.

Damien Harris (head), Patrick Surtain II (knee), and Collin Sexton (knee) all left their respective games today and didn’t return.

Shaun Alexander was the guest speaker at the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree sports camp at Anderson Park in Atlanta today.

Ennis Whatley stopped by Alabama basketball practice today and spoke to the team.
