Rhyan White is a world champion! The Alabama senior won the Women’s 200m Backstroke at the FINA World Championships in Abu Dhabi today in a personal best time of 2:01.58. White had set a personal best of 2:04.08 in the prelims several hours earlier, then shattered that mark in the finals.

The win is White’s first gold medal in a global event. She picked up a silver medal in the Women’s 4x50m Medley Relay yesterday, and had previously won silver in the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay at the Tokyo Olympics.

Kareem Jackson continues to set a physical tone for Denver, despite age and injuries.

Michael Kessens scored a career-high 23 points for Telekom Baskets Bonn in its win over Giessen today.

Levi Randolph hit the go-ahead basket with 14 seconds left to lead Oostende to an 80-78 win over Brussels today. Oostende moves to 11-0 in BNXT League play.

In today’s COVID Reserve news, Jonathan Allen and Xavier McKinney were both activated and are available to play in Week 15 games.

Raekwon Davis announced plans for his 2nd annual toy drive in Meridian on December 23. Davis also partnered with Miami-based Voices for Children for a clothing shopping spree at a Miami-area Old Navy. Davis was on hand to greet children and sign autographs.
