Quanesha Burks won the women’s long jump at the USATF Indoor Championships in Spokane, Washington with a jump of 6.55 meters. Burks’ winning jump came on her 4th attempt. Burks also won the event at the 2020 Indoor Championships (USATF canceled the meet in 2021). Burks now advances to the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade next month.
Also at the Indoor Championships, Emmanuel Bor finished 2nd in the men’s 3000m in 7:48.64. Bor, primarily a 10000m specialist, led much of the race before falling back to second in the last 300 meters. Bor also advances to Belgrade next month.
Lee Hodges shot a +1 71 at the Honda Classic, but moved up a spot to T7 in 3rd round play. Hodges, -2, is 4 shots out of 2nd place.
