Nelson had elbow surgery last summer and will miss most of the 2022 season. Nelson will receive $700,000 for 2022, and the team holds a $1.1 million option for 2023.

Trent Richardson has reported for training camp with the Caudillos de Chihuahua of the Mexican American Professional Football League. Richardson signed with the team 13 months ago in an undefined capacity, and has held several tryout camps in the South for spots in the league. The team and Richardson now confirm that he’ll play as well.
