Kirani James, Quanesha Burks, and Jereem Richards all had successful outdoor season debuts at the USATF Bermuda Games today. James took first in the Men’s 400 meter, running 45.63 seconds in a heavy wind. Burks won the Women’s Long Jump with a 6.77 meter jump on her third jump. Richards finished second in the Men’s 200 meter.

Saketh Myneni and partner Yuki Bhambri won the doubles title at the ATP Salinas Challenger in Ecuador today, defeating 2-seeds Aragone / Quiroz in a 3-set match. Myneni / Bhambri previously defeated the top seeds of the tournament in the first round. The title marks Myneni’s 4th doubles title of 2022. He now has 10 Challenger doubles titles and 28 career doubles titles (including ITF titles).

Alana Gonçalo Da Silva scored a season-high 27 points in Melilla’s regular season finale to lead the team to its 12th straight win. Melilla, which started the season 3-9, will go into the Liga Feminina 2 playoffs as the 5-seed.

Dylan Smith made his professional debut, starting and pitching three innings for West Michigan. Smith struck out four, while giving up just a solo homer.

Herb Jones set a New Orleans Pelicans franchise record for steals plus blocks in a rookie season. Jones, now with 190 combined, had been tied with Anthony Davis at 187.

Community Outreach

Mack Wilson hosted his inaugural Celebrity Softball Tournament today in Montgomery. Wilson and Shaun Dion Hamilton co-captained teams for the event, which was slated to include Ronnie Harrison and Cam Sims, among others.

Tua Tagovailoa’s foundation hosted its annual Luau with Tua fundraiser at the Hard Rock Casino in North Hollywood, Florida tonight.
