The Chicago White Sox used Matt Foster in a high-leverage 8th inning situation for the second straight night last night, and Foster has responded by “taking the bull by the horns.” Foster and teammates comment on how he’s gotten back to 2020 form.

David Robertson is off to one of the best starts among relievers in the major leagues this season – 16 strikeouts and 1 hit allowed in 11 innings pitched. Here’s the backstory of the neighbor who played a role in Robertson’s pre-season preparation.

The Los Angeles Sparks have released its opening night roster in advance of tomorrow’s season opener, and Jasmine Walker is included. Walker was drafted by the Sparks in 2021, but missed all but six quarters (2 games) with a knee injury.

Robby Shelton shot at opening round 66 at the Simmons Bank Open (Korn Ferry Tour), and is -6, T4, one shot behind the leaders. Shelton won the 2019 version of the event.

The University of Dayton has officially announced the hiring of Kaylee Thomas as a volunteer volleyball coach. Thomas has actually been on board at Dayton since early this semester, though no official announcement had been made by Dayton.

Jerry Jeudy would seem to be one of the primary beneficiaries of having Russell Wilson at quarterback for the Denver Broncos..

The NFL Players Association recently released its list of the Top 50 players in terms merchandise sales for the 12 month period ended February 28, 2022. Mac Jones came in at #5 to lead all Alabama players, and a total of 8 Alabama players appeared on the list. The Alabama players listed were:

Landon Collins will graduate from the University of Alabama this weekend. Collins left the university after the 2014 season a few hours short of his degree, and has taken the opportunity to finish his degree this spring. Tyler Ras and Morgan McCullough are other professional athletes graduating this weekend, though they won’t be in attendance due to baseball commitments.

Community Outreach

Marlon Humphrey is working with the Baltimore Area Sports Health Initiative to provide more certified athletic trainers on the sidelines of sporting events. Humphrey is matching donations to the initiative.
