Kirani James won the Men’s 400 Meter race at the Diamond League event in Rome today in a time of 44.54 seconds. James defeated a field that included Michael Cherry, who beat out James at the Prefontaine Classic two weeks ago.

Strong opening rounds from Lee Hodges, Tom Lovelady, Robby Shelton, and Kenzie Wright at various tournaments today. Hodges, -4, is T-5th at the RBC Canadian Open. Lovelady and Shelton had matching -6 scores at the BMW Charity Pro-Am, and are T-8th. Kenzie Wright had her best round on the Epson Tour with a -4 67, and is currently T-13th.

Donta Hall and A.S. Monaco advanced to France’s LNB ProA finals today with a 3-1 series win over Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Monaco will face Lyon-Villeurbanne in the best-of-5 series that starts on June 15.

Jake Walters was officially assigned to the FCL Marlins on a rehab assignment and pitched an inning in a Florida Complex League game tonight, marking his first official appearance since last year’s elbow surgery. Walters struck out two batters in the inning of work.

Sam Amico of Hoops Wire gives his insight on the issues involved on both sides of Collin Sexton’s impending free agency. Amico still thinks Sexton will re-sign with Cleveland.
