Daily Recap – August 9, 2022

News

Peyton Wilson and the Quad Cities River Bandits (playing under the name Davenport Blue Sox) played the Cedar Rapids Kernels in the MILB at Field of Dreams Classic tonight at the famous Field of Dreams Stadium in Iowa. It’s the first minor league game ever played at the stadium. Wilson homered in the game.

Everything is lining up for Jerry Jeudy to have a break-out season.

New York Mets manager Buck Showalter, in his injury update today, said that Tommy Hunter should spend just the minimum 15 days on the Injured List, and should begin a rehab assignment shortly.

Evan Neal, originally assigned number 70, was able to switch to the more familiar 73 today.
