Tyler Gentry has been named the 2022 Northwest Arkansas Naturals Player of the Year by the Kansas City Royals. For the season (which includes 35 games with High-A Quad Cities), Gentry hit 21 home runs and drove in 86 runs in 105 games. Gentry hit for a .326 average, had an on-base percentage of .422, and slugged .542 for the year.

Chase Lee has named the Texas Rangers organization’s Reliever of the Month for August. Lee was 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA for the month, striking out 17 while allowing only one walk. Opposing batters were 4-for-58 against Le for the month. Lee had a 13-inning scoreless streak from July 17 through August 25.

Jalen Hurts, on the strength of 301 totals yards of offense in the first half, led Philadelphia to a 24-7 win over Minnesota. Hurts rushed for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns in the half, and threw for 251 yards and another TD to spark the Eagles’ half.

This NFL piece is on NFL receiver Justin Jefferson returning to New Orleans to spend time working with youth at Robby Green’s training facility. Green is also the head coach of a 7-on-7 team founded by Jefferson.

Mack Wilson’simpressive athleticism” was on full display against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kenzie Wright Monday-qualified for this week’s NW Arkansas Championship. Wright, -3, got the second of 2 qualifying spots in a playoff.

Community Outreach

Xavier McKinney is teaming up with Dreambuilders Foundation and United Way of New York City tonight to host Xavier McKinney’s All Star Bowl. Proceeds from the event will benefit the UWNYC’s child literacy program, ReadNYC.
