Brian Robinson made his NFL debut today for the Washington Commanders, six weeks after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his leg in an armed robbery in Washington. Robinson was introduced last by the hometown Commanders, would run the ball 9 times, and would swap jerseys with Derrick Henry after the game.
Derrick Henry would post 132 scrimmage yards (102 on the ground) and score 2 touchdowns to lead Tennessee to a 21-17 win over Washington.
Saivion Smith was elevated from the practice squad by Detroit and made his season debut today, but his day was cut short when he suffered a neck injury in the first half. Smith was immobilized and taken to nearby hospital as a precaution, but was later released and flew back to Detroit with the team. Other players suffering injuries today Damien Harris (hamstring), Levi Wallace (concussion), and Landon Dickerson (leg).
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles moved to 5-0 on the season with a 20-17 win over Arizona. Hurts rushed for 2 touchdowns, bringing his total on the season to 6 TDs. Hurts now has 19 rushing TDs in his career, which is the most-ever by a quarterback in his first 25 starts.
DeMeco Ryans is expected to be a top head coaching candidate in the next NFL hiring cycle.
