Shaun Alexander was officially inducted into the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor today. Alexander spent 8 seasons with the Seahawks, where he rushed for 9,429 yards and 100 (!) touchdowns. Alexander was the Associated Press MVY and Offensive Player of the Year in 2005, when he scored a then-record 27 touchdowns.
Quinnen Williams turned in a monster performance today in the New York Jets’ road upset against the Green Bay Packers. Williams recorded 2 sacks, 3 quarterback hits, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick in the Jets’ 27-10 win. Williams had a career-high 7 QB pressures on 34 pass rushes and now leads all defensive tackles in pressure rate (14.8%) & sack rate (3.7%) this season.
Kenyan Drake, in a back-up role, rushed for 119 yards on 10 carries for Baltimore today. Drake’s last 100-yard rushing day came in November 2020, with the Arizona Cardinals.
Week 6 was highlighted as much by who didn’t play as who played well. Eight Alabama players were declared inactive (see below), with seven of the inactives being due to injuries.
