In his progression to return from last season’s torn ACL, Kira Lewis has now been cleared for 5-on-5 activity. Lewis’ next step will be to get into some games with the Birmingham Squadron (New Orleans Pelicans’ G League affiliate).

Xavier McKinney spoke to reporters today to provide more information about his hand injury suffered while on vacation during the bye week. McKinney has had surgery on the hand already, and has apologized to teammates. He also says he’s okay with forfeiting salary if the Giants pursued such action.

Both the Orlando Sentinel and the Miami Herald have film studies today on what’s making Tua Tagovailoa successful this season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers declined the 2023 option on Jimmy Nelson today, making Nelson a free agent. Nelson, who missed all of the 2022 season while recovering from elbow surgery, would have made $1.1 million in 2023 had the Dodgers exercised the option.

Sources are reporting that the New Orleans Saints are signing Derrick Gore. Gore was one of three running backs that the Saints worked out today. Gore was released by the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of camp with an injury settlement for a thumb injury.

Cade Foster has officially been elected County Attorney for McCracken County, Kentucky. Foster, who won the Republican nomination earlier this year, was unopposed in the general election.
