Miami head coach Mike McDaniel announced in his weekly Monday press conferenct today that Tua Tagovailoa has been placed back in the concussion protocol. Tagovailoa appeared to have hit his head on the turf midway through yesterday’s game, but remained in the game and held a customary press conference after the game. Tagovailoa has previously suffered two concussions this season, so there’s heightened concern for his health.
Derrick Henry did not practice today with a hip injury, and could be held out of Tennessee’s Thursday night game against Dallas. Thursday’s game. On a side note, Henry is nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Week again this week.
Braxton Key was waived by the Detroit Pistons, which, for the time being, also ends his tenure with the G League’s Motor City Cruise. Key had only appeared in 3 games (3 minutes total) for the Pistons this year, but was averaging 17.2 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 3.2 APG for Motor City. Teams have 48 hours to claim Key, and he’ll be free to possibly re-sign with Motor City after he clears waivers.
