Daily Recap – January 4, 2023


Jared Mayden, who spent time on Buffalo’s practice squad earlier this year, was signed off the New York Jets’ practice squad to the Bills’ active roster today. Mayden will provide depth at a position affected by Damar Hamlin’s absence due to cardiac arrest on the field last Monday night.

The Chicago Bears have signed Terrell Lewis to the active roster for the team’s season finale this coming weekend. Lewis was signed to the Bears’ practice squad two weeks ago after he was waived by the Los Angeles Rams.

Kevin Sherrer has been named Co-Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Georgia Tech.

The Golden State Warriors announced today that JaMychal Green will be out at least another week while he regains fitness and conditioning. Green has missed the last seven games due to a combination of health and safety protocol and a right leg infection.

Henry To’oTo’o is the latest Alabama senior to confirm that he’ll be foregoing his COVID bonus year of eligibility and will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Justin Thomas is making an equipment change this week. He’ll be playing with an old Scotty Cameron putter that he’s had since middle school. Thomas hasn’t used the putter in competition since his Alabama days.

Former Alabama jumper and hurdler LaTasha Pharr will be inducted into the North Carolina High School Track and Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame later this month. Pharr competed at Alabama from 2002 through 2005.

Jalen Hurts took first-team reps at Philadelphia’s walk-through today, as the team assesses whether or not his throwing shoulder is healthy enough to return to action for this coming weekend’s regular season finale.
