Shelley Godwin Jaudon has been hired as the head coach of Kentucky’s women’s tennis program. Jaudon, a former Alabama player and assistant, just completed a successful run at James Madison University, where she led the program to its first Colonial Athletic Conference championships and first NCAA Tournament berths in school history.

Reyna Reyes picked a dramatic moment for her first career goal! Reyes scored on a header off a corner kick at 90′ to give Portland a 1-1 tie against San Diego. See video of goal below.

Spencer Turnbull spoke to reporters today, and gave an update on his neck injury rehabilitation. Turnbull says he had another MRI this week, which showed progress. He is scheduled for another MRI in two weeks, and can hopefully begin a throwing program afterwards.

Jiwon Jeon shot an opening round 66 (-7) at the Epson Tour’s Inova Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship to take a 3-stroke lead in the 54-hole event.

Ryan Kelly and his wife Emma announced throught a People exclusive that they are expecting twin boys. The Kellys lost a daughter at 19 weeks during Emma’s first pregnancy, and have been active with pregnancy causes since the loss.

Cindy Ouellett, Arinn Young, and Bo Hedges were named to the Canadian Women’s and Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball teams for upcoming international competitions in Dubai.

Cheyenne Knight advanced to the knockout stage at the LPGA Match Play with a dramatic birdie on the 18th hole today. Knight finished 2-0-1 to win her round-robin group.

Kira Lewis announced that his annual basketball camp will be July 1 at Hazel Green High School in Huntsville.
