NBA Draft

Brandon Miller was drafted 2nd overall by the Charlotte Hornets in tonight’s NBA Draft. Miller matches Antonio McDyess, who went 2nd in the 1995 draft, as the highest draft pick from the University of Alabama. Miller also becomes the 8th Alabama lottery pick in the draft lottery era (since 1985), and the 4th in the last 6 drafts.

Noah Clowney was selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the 21st pick in the draft, giving Alabama two first round draft picks for the first time since 1995 (Antonio McDyess, 2nd, and Jason Caffey, 20th). It’s just the fourth time that Alabama has had two first round picks, with the other years being 1992 (Robert Horry, 11th, and Latrell Sprewell, 24th) and 1987 (Derrick McKey, 9th, and Jim Farmer, 20th).
