Most NFL training camps are now open, with many opening today. Here are some storylines from today’s camps:

  • Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich acknowledged today that the team is going into camp with Bryce Young already ascending to starting quarterback.
  • Mac Jones is embracing a “fresh start” with New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
  • John Metchie has been cleared for full activities on the Houston Texans’ first day of training camp. Metchie missed the 2022 season while undergoing leukemia treatments.
  • Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts both revealed today that they turned down opportunities to be featured in the Netflix series Quarterback.

Justin Thomas, with a PGA Tour playoff berth on the line, has added two events to his schedule, starting with this week’s 3M Open.

Frankie Capan passed on playing in this week’s Korn Ferry Tour event (where his is on the Top 30 bubble in the standings) to accept a sponsor’s exemption to play in the PGA Tour’s 3M Open in his home state.
