Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Tommy Seidl (August 14, 2023)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Tommy Seidl. Seidel homered 4 times during the week to help lead the Quebec Capitales to a 5-1 record for the week.

Runner-up this week is Arinn Young. Young led her Brazilian team to the Brazilian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Championship. Young had 33 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game, and was named championship MVP.

Others of note:

Annika Zeyen won a gold medal in the H3 Handbike Road Race at the UCI Paracycling Championships in Scotland. Zeyen finished 2nd in two other events as well.

Daniel Haugh won the Men’s Hammer Throw at the Tampere Motonet Grand Prix.

Jada Rice had 11 points and 6 rebounds in the Norwood Flames’ NBL1 Central championship winning game in Australia.

David Robertson picked up 2 saves and struck out 3 batters in 2 innings of work.

Chase Lee worked 3 scoreless innings and struck out 6 batters.

Dylan Smith gave up 1 run and struck out 7 hitters in 6 innings over two rehab outings.

Dylan Ray matched his career high of 9 strikeouts in one of his starts.

Casey Cobb pitched 3.2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts.

Hunter Hoopes picked up his 3rd pitching win in a 6-inning start.

Andrew Pinckney hit safely in 5 of 6 games and homered twice.

Ed Johnson ended the week with a 5-game hitting streak, during which he hit .450 (9-for-20).

Peyton Wilson had 3 multi-hit games.

Dicky Pride finished T-9th at the Boeing Classic.
