Kareem Jackson has been suspended without pay for four games, following his most recent unnecessary roughness penalty. Jackson had been fined in four of his six games prior to Sunday for approximately $90,000 in fines, will almost certainly be fined again for Week 7, and was disqualified for the second time this season. Jackson is appealing the suspension.
Patrick Kaukovalta was named to Finland’s team for its first-ever appearance in the Davis Cup Final 8, which comes up in December. Finland will first face Canada in the Final 8.
Luisa Blanco finished 8th overall in the Women’s All-Around at the Pan American Games with a score of 50.099, but that was good enough to secure her a berth in the 2024 Summer Olympics, representing Colombia. Blanco was high scorer among eligible athletes. Blanco’s round was highlighted by a 13.633 on the vault.
The San Antonio Spurs announced that they have converted Charles Bediako’s Exhibit 10 training camp contract into a two-way contract. The Spurs had one remaining two-way contract slot, and the move would allow Bediako to split time between the Spurs and the team’s G League affiliate in Austin.
