Jahmyr Gibbs had a breakout game tonight, getting 31 touches and 189 yards from scrimmage in Detroit’s 26-14 win over Buffalo. Gibbs, starting in place of the injured David Montgomery, had 26 rushes for 152 yards, and caught 5 passes for another 37 yards.

Minkah Fitzpatrick, who left yesterday’s game with a hamstring injury, will miss Pittsburgh’s game Thursday night.

Mike Sielski of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jalen Hurts has been dealing with a bone bruise on his left knee. Hurts’ post-game press conference yesterday was delayed while Hurts received treatment on his injured knee.

Julio Jones’ go-ahead touchdown yesterday was the product of repetition and patience – the team practiced the play 15 times during the past week.

Derrick Henry, Jalen Hurts, and Tua Tagovailoa are all nominees for this week’s FedEx awards. Henry is nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, while Hurts and Tagovailoa received nominations for the FedEx Air Player of the Week.

NBA G League camps opened up today around the league. NBA players on two-way contracts (J.D. Davison, Keon Ellis, Braxton Key, Charles Bediako) have reported to their respective G League teams, and Noah Clowney, who hasn’t appeared in an NBA game yet, is practicing with the Nets’ G League team this week. Other former Alabama players in G League camps are Jaden Shackelford (Oklahoma City Blue), Alex Reese (Rio Grande Valley Vipers), Daniel Giddens (Birmingham Squadron), and Dominick Welch (Memphis Hustle).

Community Outreach

Patrick Surtain II is hosting an event tonight where he’s awarding one local high school with a “Pat’s Inspiration Room. The room will be an innovative space designed to nurture Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Bradley and Nikki Bozeman hosted their annual Halloween Costume and Casino Night fundraiser tonight in Charlotte. Proceeds benefit the Bozemans’ foundation, which supports efforts to combat food insecurity in the Charlotte metro area.

Braxton Key recently spoke to the boys and girls basketball teams at John F. Kennedy High School in Denver on the subject of financial literacy.
