Nealy Martin and NJ/NY Gotham FC won the NWSL Championship tonight with a 2-1 win over OL Reign. With Gotham out of substitutions, Martin was was pressed into duty as goalkeeper at 90+6′ for the final 5 minutes of extra time after Gotham’s goalkeeper got red-carded. Martin, who played in goal earlier this year under similar circumstances, was in goal for a free kick with the championship on the line.
Peyton Wilson and Justin King were part of the Suprise Sagueros team that won the Arizona Fall League championship game, 6-5 over the Peoria Javelinas.
Rashaan Evans has been elevated from the practice squad by the Dallas Cowboys for a third straight week. This week’s elevation will exhause the Cowboys’ available elevations on Evans, who will have to be signed to the active roster in order to be used after Week 10.
Josh Jacobs has been fined $21,855 for this play last week in which he’s just trying to get an extra yard.
