Jalen Hurts has been named co-winner (along with teammate Jason Kelce) of the 2023 John Wanamaker Athletic Award. The award recognizes an athlete, team, or organization that has done the most to reflect credit upon Philadelphia and the team or sport in which they excel.

Joshua Primo was officially signed to a standard NBA contract by the Los Angeles Clippers today. Primo had been playing on a two-way contract, but indications as early as last week were that the Clippers planned to convert it to a rest-of-season standard contract.

Chris Hines won his first game as head basketball coach at Reid State Technical College last night. Reid State launched its baskeball program this season.

Tyler Gentry was included in MiLB.com’s Kansas City Royals Organizational All-Stars. MiLB published its Royals list today.

Olivia Fotopoulou was among a handful of Cypriot athletes recognized for breaking Cypriot national records in track and field in 2023. Fotopoulou broke the Women’s Indoor 60 Meter national record four times, and also set a new Women’s Indoor 200 Meter record. Fotopoulou also tied the Women’s Outdoor 100 Meter national record.
