News

Bo Scarbrough announced his retirement from professional football today. Scarbrough, who led the Birmingham Stallions to a USFL championship two seasons ago, missed all but one series last season with a knee injury, and was attempting to come back with the Stallions (now of the UFL) this season.

Anton McKee backed up yesterday’s win in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke at the TYR Pro Swim Series event in Illinois with a win in the 200 meter tonight.

Benedetta Moresco made her professional debut at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic on the Epson Tour.

Brandon Miller tied a Charlotte Hornets franchise rookie record by making a 3-point goal in his 18th straight game. He ties the record previously set by LaMelo Ball.

Merel Van Dongen scored her 6th goal of the season for Rayadas de Monterrey, extending her personal best goals total for a season.

Some NFL insider reports involving former Alabama players: The Cleveland Browns have reportedly converted Jedrick Wills’ 5th year option, which clears about $10.44 million in cap space. The New England Patriots are fielding trade offers on Mac Jones. And an ESPN report indicates that Derrick Henry, who will hit free agency next week, is unlikely to return to Tennessee.

Josh Niblett and the 2004 Oneonta High School team that he coached to a state championship were inducted into the Blount County Hall of Fame this week.
