The New York Yankees selected Ben Hess with the 26th pick in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft. That’s the second-highest an Alabama player has been selected in the regular phase of the draft, behind only Joe Vitiello, who was drafted 7th overall by the Kansas City Royals in the 1991 draft.
