With Hunter Renfroe going on the 10-Day Injured List with a hamstring strain, the Kansas City Royals selected the contract of Tyler Gentry as a replacement. Gentry entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the 8th inning for his major league debut. Gentry becomes the 70th former Alabama player to play in the major leagues.
In the final round of the BMW Championship today, Justin Thomas carded a bogey-free 68 (the only bogey-free round in the field), then had to wait for four hours to see if he did enough to advance to the PGA Tour Championship. Thomas teetered between 28th and 32nd most of the afternoon after his round concluded, then finally was able to secure the 30th and final spot in the field after Alex Noren bogeyed the final three holes.
Elina Sinz and Michaela Morard both advanced out of the LPGA pre-qualifying tournament to secure spots in the Qualifying Stage of the LPGA’s Q Series. Both finished +1, T89th, with the Top 95 plus ties advancing.

Haylie McCleney played her final professional softball game today, as Athletes Unlimited’s current season concluded. McCleney announced last month that she would be retiring following the season. McCleney accomplished one last milestone today, becoming just the second player to surpass 10,000 leaderboard points in Athletes Unlimited’s scoring system.
