Lauren Stephenson birdied the final hole of the Four Winds Invitational to secure a T-2nd finish, for her second-best finish on the season on the Epson Tour. she moves up to 2nd in the Epson Tour’s Race for the Card standings, as she is poised to regain full status on the LPGA Tour. At the same event, Sarah Edwards had a career-best T-8th finish. She’s now 8-for-8 in cuts made, but this marks her first Top 10 finish.
On the strength of 2 rounds of 63 this week, Thomas Ponder finished a career-best T-4th at the CRMC Championship on PGA Tour Americas. Ponder now has 2 Top 10 finishes on the tour.
Top seeds Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski moved into the US Open Women’s Doubles quarterfinals with a straight-set win today.
In the season finale for the Florence Y’alls tonight, Ed Johnson played every position but right field, as the Y’alls rearrange the defensive alignment every inning. Florence did not play defense in the bottom of the ninth, or Johnson would have likely played every position.
