Patrick Surtain II and the Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a four-year, $96 million contract extension for the All-Pro cornerback. The contract, which includes $77.5 million in guaranteed money, will make Surtain the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. Surtain’s deal means that former Alabama players have now signed contracts exceeding $1 billion in stated value this offseason. Surtain was also named a team captain for the 2024 season.

Bryce Young was named a team captain by the Carolina Panthers.

Christian Barmore, sidelined by an illness, returned to the New England Patriots’ locker room today. Barmore was placed on the non-football-injury reserve list at the beginning of the season and is out indefinitely.

Golf journalist Adam Schupak questions why Justin Thomas was left off of the Presidents Cup team.
