News

Alabama alumni took 3 of the 6 NFL Player of the Week slots for Week 6. Derrick Henry was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his 132-yard, 2-touchdown performance. It’s the 2nd time that Henry has won the award this season, and the 9th time in his career. Will Anderson got the AFC Defensive Player of the Week honor after his 8-tackle, 4 tackle-for-loss (including a career high 3 sacks) game. On the NFC side, Brian Branch’s 3 forced turnovers (including 2 interceptions) earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Anderson and Branch are both first-time winners.

With the addition of Derrick Henry, Baltimore now statistically has one of the best offenses ever. Henry is also on a pace to eclipse his best seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

The Denver Broncos will have to play another game without Patrick Surtain II tomorrow night. Surtain’s absence this past Sunday set the Broncos’ defense into a tailspin.

Jereem Richards is nominated for the Caribbean Male Sports Personality of the Year at this weekend’s inaugural Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) Sports Awards.
