Rayadas de Monterrey, down 1 goal in aggregate score in the Liga MX Femenil Apertura Championship Game 2, survived a penalty kick at 84′, and then scored the aggregate tying goal at 90+7′ to force penalty kicks to decide the championship. Monterrey would prevail 4-3 in the penalty phase, with Merel Van Dongen scoring the deciding goal. Tanna Sánchez Carreto also contributed to the win by scoring Monterrey’s first goal, shortly after entering the match in the second half.

The upstart Athletes Unlimited Softball League announced the general managers and head coaches for its 4 inaugural franchises today, and Kelly Krestchman will serve as head coach for one of the franchises. Kretschman has extensive coaching experience, both in the professional ranks and with USA Softball.

Will Anderson, DeVonta Smith, Tua Tagovailoa, and Quinnen Williams have all been nominated for the 2024 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. Each NFL team nominats a player for the award, which recognizes individuals around the league who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship. The initial list of 32 nominees will be cut to 8 finalists, with a winner announced at NFL Honors, right before the Super Bowl.

Tua Tagovailoa and Josh Jacobs are among the nominees for this week’s FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week awards.

As expected, Nick Dunlap is one of the nominees for the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Award, which goes to the tour’s rookie of the year.

Nick Dunlap and Justin Thomas were announced as two of three exemptions into next month’s Hero World Challenge, which is an annual event hosted by Tiger Woods.
