Patrick Surtain II picked up a couple more honors today for his outstanding season. Surtain was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America (he was named to the PFWA’s All-NFL team earlier this week). He has also been named the 101 Awards’ 2024 AFC Defensive Player of the Year. The 101 Awards have been awarded annually by The Committee of 101 since 1969, and are the longest continual awards program dedicated exclusively to the NFL.
Klutch Sports Group, with Nicole Lynn as the lead agent, announced today that it will be reprensenting Tyler Booker, Jihaad Campbell, Jalen Milroe, and Tim Smith in the upcoming draft. Lynn and KSG have represented a long list of former Alabama players, including Will Anderson, Christian Barmore, Jalen Hurts, Evan Neal, Quinnen Williams, and Jedrick Wills, among others.
Dennis Alexander, who served as Sam Shade’s offensive coordinator at Miles College, will assume the same role with Shade at Alabama A&M.
Krystal Rivers and Allianz MTV Stuttgart advanced to the playoffs in CEV Champions League after a tough 5-set win over CSO Voluntari.

Community Outreach
Derrick Henry and Ryan Kelly have made the finalists cut for the NFLPA’s Alan Page Community Award. Henry and Kelly were among 18 nominees (as was Raekwon Davis) by virtue of being one of weekly Community MVPs awarded by the players’ association. A winner will be announced on February 5.
