Chris Robinson, a 400 Meter Hurdles specialist who is running in 400 Meter events this year, shattered his personal best in the 400 Meter to win the Olympic Development event at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Floriday. Robinson won with a time of 44.15 seconds, which was almost a second and a half better than his previous best of 45.54 seconds. Robinson now has the world lead in the event.
Erin Routliffe and partner Gabriela Dabrowski dropped the first set at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, but rallied to win their semifinal match. Routliffe is trying to win a second straight WTA tournament (she won two weeks ago win Charleston with Jelena Ostapenko as a partner).
Justin Thomas relinquished his 36-hole lead at the RBC Heritage, but enters the final round at -14, T2, as he seeks to win his first tournament since the 2022 PGA Championship. Thomas’ round included a one-stroke penalty on the 2nd hole when he self-reported a ball moving, and playing a shot out of the water on the 11th hole.
