In order to clear the path for Max Scherzer to return to the active roster, The Toronto Blue Jays have designated Spencer Turnbull for assignment. If Turnbull goes unclaimed over the next 7 day, he can either accept an assignment to the minors or elect free agency. Turnbull pitched 6.1 innings in the two weeks that he was on the Blue Jays’ 26-man roster.
