Jahmyr Gibbs was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 12. Gibbs had career highs of 219 rushing yards and 264 yards from scrimmage, and scored three touchdowns, including the go-ahead touchdown on the first play of overtime in Detroit’s win over the New York Giants. Gibbs is honored for the second time this season, and the third time in his career.
Brett Auerbach announced his retirement from professional baseball in an Instagram post this evening. Auerbach, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2020 by the San Francisco Giants, spent parts of five seasons in the Giants organization, rising to Triple-A. He finished his career with a successful stint in Liga Mexicana de Beisbol this past summer.
Byron Young dealt with the sudden loss of his father this past March, and has found a special way to keep his father’s memory alive.
