Western Michigan rewarded head coach Lance Tucker with a five-year contract extension today, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the Mid-American Conference. Western Michigan won the MAC championship over the weekend in Taylor’s third year at the helm.
Nick Gentry resigned as head football coach of Pell City High School yesterday. Pell City reached the playoffs in both of Gentry’s seasons as Pell City’s coach.
The Cincinnati Bengals have waived Jermaine Burton, ending a tumultuous two seasons with the team. Burton, who has not been active for a game in 2025, was suspended by the team for undisclosed reasons for the team’s Week 14 team game yesterday.
Paul Tyson has reportedly been hired as quarterbacks coach at Samford University. Tyson served this past season as an offensive analyst at Clemson.
