Davis Riley got off to a slow start (+2 through 3 holes) but settled in despite windy conditions to shoot a 3rd round 67, giving him a 2-shot lead at -12 after 54 holes at the Sony Open. This marks the third time in his career that Riley has held a 54-hole lead, with the most recent coming at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge (which Riley won).
Ten days after being released from his two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, Mark Sears has been signed by the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate, as an affiliated player. Though he is once again aligned with the Bucks organization, Sears is free to sign with any other NBA franchise as a free agent.
Damion Square has been hired as defensive line coach with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL. Square most recently was on the staff at West Alabama.
Victor Johansson has been named Swimmer of the Year in Sweden. Johansson swept the distance freestyle events (400m, 800m, 1500m) at the Swedish Nationals, and now holds the national record in all three events.
