Tyler Booker and Jihaad Campbell have been named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team.
Charles Bediako filed suit in Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court today asking for injunctive relief to allow him to return to Alabama to compete collegiately. Bediako, in his third season in the NBA G League, declared for the 2023 NBA draft, but went undrafted. He would sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the San Antonio Spurs, which led to a two-way contract with the team. Though Bediako was under contract with the Spurs, he never suited up for the team, and only appeared in 5 G League games with the Austin Spurs before being released with a knee injury. Bediako’s attorneys are relying on recent cases where former G League players have been allowed to play college basketball, though none of the current cases involved someone who was signed to an NBA contract.
Matt Foster, whose Dominican Republic winter ball team was eliminated yesterday, had his season extended today when he was selected by Leones del Escogido to fortify its bullpen in the championship series. Both teams in the finals gets to select two players from the eliminated teams, and Escogido selected Foster with its first pick.
