In Memoriam
Former Alabama player and influential donor Robert Wayne “Bud” Moore died today at his home in Tennesee at the age of 86. Moore served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator during the early 1970s, and would later be named Big Eight Coach of the Year at Kansas. Moore left coaching at the age of 40, and had a successful buisness career in his later years. He was instrumental in the funding of several construction projects at Alabama, as well as the creation of Tide Pride. He is a member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame.
Former Alabama track athlete Talaya Owens died recently at the age of 38. Owens competed at Alabama from 2006 through 2010 in sprints and hurdles.
