Bud Cauley, in his 239th career PGA Tour start and 8 years after a horrific automobile crash derailed his career, won his first Tour event at the RBC Canadian Open. Cauley’s final round 65 included a back-nine stretch of 4 birdies over 5 holes, and was highlighted by a 93-foot birdie pitch on the 12th hole that gave him the lead that he never relinquished. Cauley would win by 2 strokes. The win secures berths in both next week’s US Open and next month’s British Open.
